Equal parts guitar and vocal driven, sonically and structurally diverse, NadNavillus is the music of Dan Sullivan. A Chicago resident since the late 90s, Sullivan has recorded with Glen Hansard and Jason Molina, including on the latter’s seminal "Magnolia Electric Company", as well as releasing 4 full-length LPs with long-running Art-Metal ensemble Arriver.

The latest NadNavillus album, "Forgotten Portraits" released in 2023,  pairs Sullivan’s compositions with words sourced from Poetry Magazine’s February 2021 issue “The Practice of Freedom”, featuring poems by incarcerated people or those directly affected by incarceration. Anchored by Sullivan’s honest singing voice and impressive open-tuning electric fingerstyle guitar playing, the arrangements range from intimate to lush, with influences of African blues, out-jazz and Americana meeting under the umbrella of Indie-folk.

Two previous albums on Jagjaguwar, “Show Your Face” and “Iron Night” found receptive audiences in Europe, and the next NadNavillus LP, tentatively titled “Dedications” is in preproduction and will be released late 2024.

NadNavillus currently features Madeliene Aguilar (keyboards, percussion), Rob Bochnik (baritone guitar), Andy Hall (drums) and Eddie Matthews (tenor sax).

GLS Trio:

Adam Gabbert - electric nylon-string guitar

Daniel Lewis - vibraphone, electronics

Erik Sowa - drum set, percussion

Adam Gabbert is a guitarist who focuses primarily on the nylon-string guitar. His approach to improvisation emphasizes listening and creating patterns. His training is primarily in the classical tradition.

Daniel T Lewis (he/they) is a multi-disciplinary composer, performer, and educator, a hobbyist gardener, and a resident of Berwyn, IL. Daniel performs all around Chicagoland in a wide variety of formats and genres, including contemporary classical, punk, indie rock, free improvisation, musical theater, and jazz. Daniel is also pioneering their JI Vibraphone project - exploring alternate Just Intonation tuning systems for the vibraphone and commissioning new compositions for those tunings. The first performance of these works can be heard on YouTube (search: "dtlewismusic"). www.danieltlewis.com

Erik Sowa is a Chicago based drummer/multi-instrumentalist whose musical directions are informed by post-rock, free jazz, ambient/noise, and afro-beat traditions.  In recent years, Erik has collaborated with a wide range of performers of varied musical genres including Peter Maunu, Jeb Bishop, Norman Long, Ben Schmidt-Swartz, Mai Sugimoto, Thomas Comerford, and Snek Trio.  In 2022, Erik released a self-titled solo album of instrumental compositions titled "Cedar Lake Recordings Vol. 1" which was reviewed in Dusted Magazine.
