Core Residency

Our artist-run space is also a home with a family. Navigating the daily challenges of living on a boundary zone of a public-private space, the Nord-Shaeffer family has generously, and bravely offered their yard and property as a host site for Compound Yellow, and because of that, each family member has a stake in the activities of our organization and composes the core of our layered residency model.

The Nord-Shaeffer family is a collective of makers, thinkers, and feelers. Each of them is a designer, musician, architect, poet, illustrator, organizer, naturalist, and human.
