Compound Layers is a 5-year experimental co-residency model designed to strengthen, invite, and expand the possibilities of our organization by bringing artists, their visions and communities, together.
Throughout one calendar year, Compound Yellow becomes a site of generative interactivity between five separate residencies, or layers— each with their own spaces, priorities, ambitions, and responsibilities.
Much like a natural ecosystem, each residency has its niche that co-exists and co-evolves alongside other residents as the programmatic season unfolds and resources get shared, territories overlap, and plans intersect.
