Official Claire is one of her generation’s finest songwriters. The Chicago Reader praised her “incisive, witty lyrics… sensitivity and straight talk." Grammy winning musician LeRoy Bach says, “Official Claire is my favorite new songwriter. She works with calm confession, deep wit and mischief, and the details of a poet- and all those swaying hooks!”

Claire is also a calm shredder of guitar and a natural improviser. The Singleman Affair called her a “stunning bliss/drone sorceress.”  She’s been selected by Wilco to play at their Solid Sound Festival this July.  She’s also performed on the Square Roots mainstage, and at a Lollapalooza after-party with Slow Pulp.

On her most recent release, Midnight Dickbiter, Claire played and engineered the majority of instruments. The beautiful collection maintains a celebration amid darkness, and generosity amid the mundane.

For this special performance at Compound Yellow, she will perform solo, accompanied by LeRoy Bach. Special guest Bill Harris will open.

Bill Harris is a percussionist, improviser, and audio engineer in Chicago. He also operates and produces for Amalgam, a Chicago-based label and collective, and co-operates Chicago recording studio and performance space Marmalade.

"Harris...[maintains] a firm pulse while jabbing his partners with sputtering lines that suggest he could keep time even as he and his kit tumbled down a flight of stairs." - Peter Margasak, Chicago Reader.
