CHICAGO- Tiger Strikes Asteroid Chicago is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Chicago artist Olivia Schreiner entitled Nascent Things.

This exhibition of paintings and drawings reflects Schreiner’s observations of particular light effects in her daily surroundings. In this new body of work, she presents instances when light is emerging from darkness. For Schreiner the contrast that occurs in these transitions is not only visually captivating but also serves as a useful metaphor for the dark and dumbfounding times we find ourselves in.

Olivia Schreiner has exhibited nationally and internationally. Her work has been shown in Chicagoland at the Block Museum, Cleve Carney Art Gallery, Hyde Park Art Center and Skestos Gabrielle Gallery. She has worked as a project technician at the Fabric Workshop and Museum and is a former member of the Philadelphia artist cooperative Vox Populi. Schreiner received her BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and her MFA from Northwestern University. She is currently a member of Tiger Strikes Asteroid Chicago and Resident Artist at Compound Yellow in Oak Park, IL.
