OPENING FOR "PART 1: EVERYTHING MOVES WITH ME" BY REGIN IGLORIA

June 12, 2021 2pm - 5pm

Compound Yellow is thrilled to host an opening for the first of three exhibitions for our summer Takeover resident, Regin Iglora!

As our Takeover resident, Chicago-based multimedia artist and educator Regin Igloria has full agency over our whole space of Compound Yellow. The opening on Saturday, June 12 begins Part 1 of Everything Moves with Me, when the gallery space will be open to reveal a makeshift production facility housing parts, materials, and plans for the buildout of a variety of mobile sculptures. The objects are reminiscent of DIY trailers intended to carry equipment and belongings through an interminable landscape or of wheeled caravans for travelers with never-ending destinations. Each unit reveals moments within a fantastical, nomadic future where we might eventually live; some of which will transform throughout the stages of the residency.

Join us this Saturday from 2-5 PM for snacks and drinks. In case of rain, we’ll reschedule the event for Saturday June 19, 2-5 PM.

Collaborating artists and performers include Madeline Aguilar, Katie Chung, Sam Lewis, Jenny Polak , Portmanteau (Stephanie Diaz and Jessica Mondres), North Branch Projects, and others.

This project was made possible by 3Arts through their 3AP initiative.
