Opening reception
April 29th 2pm to 9pm

This year we are celebrating the value of collaboration and interdependency.

home/school/play/ground is a yearlong group exhibition of creative interventions in multiple spaces at Compound Yellow: inside the house, in the new bookstore, in the upstairs studio, on the ground floor of the gallery and on the side yard.

Continuing the tradition of fostering a multitude of voices and a plurality of identities and ideas, each artist has chosen a space and has asked another artist to create a piece to accompany theirs. In 2023/24, at every closing of a new exhibition, there will be a simultaneous opening of home/school/play/ground interventions/shows in parts of the compound.

This first group show features the work of Madeleine Aguilar (Tree Dock), Atlan Arceo-Witzl (Wayfinding signs), Leslie Baum (kitchen companion installation), Johnny Doley (Room and Board for Compound Birds), Marianne Fairbanks (Home TexTILES), Lorenza Perelli (The Society of Rest, Booklets with plushies in bookstore).

A special thank you to Tony Buttitta for his expert tile installation and John Mann (Leaf and Spade) for designing our new prairie restoration expansion project!
