Thank you for joining us at the BEYOND BLUE Artist Talk, where we delved into the rich narratives of indigo art. Your presence and engagement added to the depth of our exploration.

Now, we invite you to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of poetry at our upcoming event, "Poetry, Blues, and the Lore of the Indigo Child." Join us for a Poetry Circle led by the talented Justus Cornelius, where we will celebrate the power of words, culture, and creativity.

This Writer’s Workshop and Poetry Circle led by Justus will explore ways of writing poetry, the culture of the blues, and the myth, lore, and legend of the indigo child. Come ready to write, share, and play with words and on the page. Bring a journal, bring a friend, and let’s go Beyond Blue in this writing and storytelling activation

Let's keep the momentum going and continue celebrating art, culture, and shared humanity together.

Justus Cornelius is a south side Chicago-bred storyteller, writer, technologist, and creative.

Justus stewards Afrotranscendental, a creative brand, archival project, and experience lab that explores Black culture, spirituality, and ancestry. Afrotranscendental is guided by the belief that our imagination is our ancestor’s wildest dreams, inherited. Guided by this mantra, he creates spoken-word poetry, experimental fiction, and archival-based narrative works; he is expanding his creative practices through mediums such as: film photography, experience design, and performance art. Justus’ work has been featured in the Chicago Reader, Village X Magazine, and PTO: A Jobs with Justice Zine. In addition, he has hosted and performed with the Chicago Poetry Center, Fortune House Art Center, and Chicago’s House of Blues.
