Box Gallery by Richard Medina in conjunction with Observation Devices opening

Box Gallery is an experimental exhibition space takes the form of a 6" x 6" x 6" cardboard box. Artists are asked to respond to the unique constraints of the box, and create work that activates the interior of the space. More info at

Richard Medina is an artist, curator, and filmmaker based in Chicago, IL. His work focuses on identifying and inhabiting archetypes, genres, and mythologies associated with American masculinity. He has exhibited at Project 1612, Roman Susan, Corner, 2nd Floor Rear, Kitchen Space, and the 2nd Terrain Biennial. In 2016 Richard was awarded the Jeffrey Ahn, Jr. Fellowship. He is currently seeking his BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago
